Noisiness of Asynchronous Motors - Basis for New Hypotheses

Abstract

Article brings to the attention at the noise emitted by asynchronous motors. Through research performed with acoustic spectral analysis the causal relationships for vibrations and noise for network and converter fed motor have been identified. Based on the determined directional characteristics of the motor sound pressure it has been hypothesized that the end shields emit similar amount of noise as the frame does
