Abstract
The article describes the mistakes made while designing Protective Automation Systems and during their exploitation. Only recently did standards and tools appear which reasonably enable to reduce the number of alarms in control room. This will contribute to the decline in the number of wrong decisions leading to dangerous breakdowns or even wide-scale catastrophes.
