Emergency and stand-by supply from generating sets driven by combustion engine
Abstract
The article deals with power supply which can be used upon failure or outage of the normal source lasting from several hours to several days. In this case, the generators powered by combustion engine are usually the best solution. The engine starting characteristics and generator sizing are the important topics presented in the paper. Recommended practice for installation of generating sets and transfer switching are also described.
