Powers and compensation in circuits with nonsinusoidal and asymmetrical voltages and currents Part 2. Currents Physical Components and reactance compensation in single-phase circuits with linear, time-invariant loads

s. 71-79 DOI:

Abstract

The electric energy in large amounts is transmitted and processed in three-phase systems. Power phenomena and compensation in such systems cannot be explained, however, before this is done for single-phase circuits. This paper presents the Currents’ Physical Components (CPC) - based power theory of single-phase, time-invariant circuits. It explains the concept of the scattered current and scattered power, introduced in the CPC theory to provide interpretation of all physical phenomena in circuits supplied with a nonsinusoidal voltage.
