Abstract

The purpose of this article is to better understand the risks posed by static electricity in potentially explosive atmospheres. Incendivity ability tests were conducted inside a stationary explosive chamber filled with a homogeneous flammable gas mixture with air. An exemplary study of incendivity ability triggered indirectly by not intrinsically propagating brush discharging have been presented. The study was conducted in an area where intrinsic ESD caused the inflammation of the explosive atmosphere.
